Owl Always Love You!

Can't believe it is Monday again!! It's been pretty busy as it was the last day of AS Level teaching today and now they have gone on study leave until June. We've also been sitting A2 mocks... so have quite a few of them to mark. I'm getting through it all by reminding myself that there is only two weeks left until May halfterm!

Today i want to share a card i made using the new 'Owl Punch' from the 'mini catalogue'. I just love this punch, you can do so much with it. Here's todays card:

Now, you probably have already noticed that these colours are not colours that i would regularly use. I'm trying really hard to craft out of my comfort zone and so used a Stampin' Up! 'Colour Coach' to help me experiment with different colour combo's. The colours used for this card are 'Crumb Cake', 'More Mustard' and 'Bravo Burgundy' and i have to say i really love the way these colours work together!! The Owls have been punch out of scraps of 'Early Espresso', 'More Mustard', 'Bravo Burgundy', 'Crumb Cake' and 'Whisper White'. I have created the wings from the 'Scallop Circle Punch'. Using punches makes a card make much quicker and is a fab way of using up all those scraps of cardstock. Why not have a look at the range of punches that Stampin' Up! has to offer - they can be found mainly on pages 104 - 106 of the main catalogue, but there also a few lovely ones in the new mini catalogue. (Including the owl!)

You could use any sentiment on this card, but i'm quite the fan of punny cards and so decided to be brave and hand write a sentiment and overall i'm very pleased with the result!!

  3. I love owls too; you have created a wonderful card. The colours work well, and the curved edge gives the card a 70's vibe...
