Crafty Boots Challenge: Children Stories

Hi all. It's that time again! Another Crafty Boots Challenge.

I was naughty this fortnight and forgot to upload my creation so apologies to anyone who visited my blog Monday expecting to see it!

I went a little off challenge with this one and went for a childrens nursery rhyme instead - Baa Baa Black Sheep:

A 'Night of Navy' cardbase. The sky has been created with a piece of 'Bashful Blue' card. The grass has been created by tearing some 'Pear Pizzazz' 'DSP'. To create the tree i handcut some 'Early Espresso' card to make the truck, and punched some 'Scallop Circles' out of the same 'DSP' to create the leafy part of the tree!! The Sheep himself has been created from a 'Basic Black' Scallop circle to create his body, a 'Sahara Sand''5 Petal Flower Punch' which has been snipped into two pieces (2 petals making his legs, and the remaining three petals make his head! Clever hey!?!) His hair has been punched out from some 'Basic Black' using the 'Boho Blossom Punch'. I drew his eyes on with a white gel pen and then a 'Stampin' Write Marker'.

A very clever use of a flower punch i think!!! I love it when you find a completely different use for a piece of kit!! Total crafty satisfaction!!!

Anyway sorry for the delay in posting this. I look forward to seeing your creations! And don't forget if you'd like to make a Stampin' Up! order just email me!

An 'Every Little Bit' New Baby Card From Hannah!

Today i have another New Baby card to share with you created by one of my fabulous crafty friends Hannah using the fab versatile 'Every Little Bit' stampset:

Hannah started off with a 'Whisper White' base and layered some 'Tempting Turquoise' 'DSP' on to it. She then punched out three 'Scallop Circles' from 'Bashful Blue' card and glued them onto the 'DSP'. On some 'Whisper White' card she stamped out the teddybear, cat and dog images from the 'Every Little Bit' stampset using 'Basic Black' ink and then coloured in using 'Blender Pens'. She punched these out using the '1" Circle Punch' and then secured them into place using 'Dimensionals' to create a raised effect. Finally she punched out a heart using the 'Heart to Heart' punch and then covered it in Versamark and then 'Silver Embossing Powder' and then finished it off with the heatgun!

I love this card. Fab layout and completely versatile! There are so many images in the 'Every Little Bit' stampset that you could customise this card depending on the recipient. Thankyou Hannah for being so thoughtful and sending this fab card! Another one for Xanders scrapbook!! xxxxx

Crafty Boots Challenge: Postcards!

Hey all, i present to you all this fortnights Crafty Boots Challenge. Which this time has been set by Gabrielle. The challenge theme is: Postcards (think holidays, sand, sea and sun!)

I'm not gonna lie - i found this one a challenge. There are several Stampin' Up! stampsets i could have used but unfortunately didn't have them to hand, so i had to improvise and go down the holiday theme. This is what i came up with:

I've created a seaside themed 'step-card'. The cardbase is the appropriately named 'Pool Party' which i folded to create the three 'steps'.

The first step represents the sand and i cut and layered a piece of my hubbys sandpaper to create the texture. The shells have been stamped from the beautiful 'Natures Nest' stampset - i stamped these onto some 'Very Vanilla' cardstock using 'Soft Suede' ink and then layered them up on one another and placed a 'Basic Pearl' in the centre of the top one.

The sea layer is created from some aptly named 'Marina Mist' cardstock which i ran through the 'Big Shot' a few times using the 'Adorning Accent Embossing Folders' to create the embossed sea waves. I then stamped the cute little fishes (from the the fab 'Something Sweet' stampset) using 'Pumpkin Pie' ink onto some scraps of 'Whisper White' cut them out by hand and glued them in place.

To create the sky layer i worked with the 'Pool Party' base as the sky and created the two clouds by punching a piece of 'Whisper White' card using the 'Scallop Circle' punch and cutting it into two. I used my 'Bashful BBlue' Stampin' Write Marker' to add some detail to the edges of the cloud before gluing them to the base (the smaller cloud being attached in place using 'Dimensionals' to raise it up.)
Finally the sun has been created from 'Daffodil Delight' cardstock and 'Grosgrain Ribbon'. I punched out the card using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and then cut four pieces of ribbon and layered them behind to create the sunrays. I wrote the sentiment by hand using my 'Pumpkin Pie' 'Stampin' Write Marker'!

Hope you have time to have a go at this challenge - i can't wait to see all your creations! And make sure you check back to Crafty Boots Challenge Blog next fortnight as i have set the challenge and i think it will be a popular one!!

Don't forget if you want to rder any Stampin' Up! products feel free to email me: amyjtidd@gmail.com . Check out the fab August offer at the top of my blog and there are online catalogues available to view on the righthandside of this blog!!

A dress made from the Scallop Die!

A girly card to share with you today! A dress card made using the 'Large Scallop Circle Die':

I started off with a square 'Whisper White' cardbase. On which i layered a piece of  'Concord Crush' card and a smaller strip edged using the 'Scallop Trim Border Punch'.

The prom-style dress was created using the 'Large Scallop Circle Die' using the 'Big Shot, from some 'Melon Mambo DSP', which i cleverly cut into a dress shape. Before gluing it down i wrapped a piece of 'Whisper White' 'Organza Ribbon'.

Finally i stamped the sentiment from the 'Petite Pairs' stampset onto some 'Whisper White' card using 'Melon Mambo' ink and punched it out using '1-3/8" Circle Punch' which i layered onto a 'Melon Mambo DSP' 'Scallop Circle' using 'Dimensionals' to create a 3D effect!

Happy Birthday Jack!

Today is my little neighbour Jack's 5th Birthday! Jack is my friend and the best cat-sitter in the world!! He's such a cool little man and i just had to make him a special birthday card!

I layered some 'Pacific Point' 'DSP' onto a 'Real Red' cardbase. On a piece of 'Whisper White' card i stamped the balloon image (from the 'Crazy For Cupcakes' set) twice using 'Basic Black' ink and coloured them in using 'Real Red' ink and a 'Blender Pen'.

Next i used the 'Big Shot' and the 'Timeless Type Alphabet Dies' to create the 'Jack' (from 'Real Red' card) and 'is' (from 'Pacific Point' card) and then the 5 (again from 'Real Red' card) which i layered onto a '-13/4" Circle' punched from 'Pacific Point' 'DSP' and then onto a 'Real Red' 'Scallop Circle'.

I hope Jack has a fab birthday and loves his card!!

It's been awhile but i have decided to enter this into the Cupcake Craft Challenge which is currently 'Number Cruncher', basically the expectation is that you incorporate something numeric into your work so i hope i have fulfilled that criteria! Hello Cupcake Craft Challenge DT team - it's been a while but i'm back!! xxxx

Camberley WI Demo!!

Stupid baby brain!!! It wasn't until the beginning of this week that i realised that i made a stupid mistake a double booked myself for tonight. I should have been assisting Jade (a fellow Stampin up!) tonight as she is visiting the very large Camberley WI group - unfortunately it had completely excaped my mind that it is also my work open evening tonight so now i'm unable to go along and Jade will have to demo solo! I'm sure she'll do a fab job!! We designed the card that Jade will be demoing to the ladies at the weekend. The plan is that Jade will show the ladies how to make the card and to show off some Stampin' Up! products and then assist the ladies to make the coordinating bookmark!

To create the card:

On a 'Soft Suede' cardbase we layered some 'Old Olive' card and some 'DSP' from the 'Cheerful Treat' hostess collection. We then glued in place some strips of 'Soft Suede' and 'Old Olive' card across the card and then stamped the sentiment from the 'Petite Pairs' stampset onto some 'Very Vanilla' card and then punched it out using the 'Curly Label' punch.

To create the coordinating bookmark:

On a strip of 'Soft Suede' card we stamped the 'Woodgrain' pattern using 'Chocolate Chip' ink. We punched a 'Scallop Circle' from some 'Old Olive' card and then stamped the wise old owl from 'Fox and Friends' stampset using 'Chocolate Chip' ink and then punched it out using '1-3/8" Circle Punch'.

We tucked the bookmark into the card to finalise the design!! I hope the ladies enjoy crafting with Jade this evening!

Owl Pirate Card!

Yep... thats right today i have an owl pirate card to share with you - just another way you can use the fab 'Owl Punch'!

I ran a ‘Marina Mist’ cardbase through the ‘Big Shot’ using the ‘Stripes Embossing Folder’ to add some texture.
Next up i ran some 'Early Espresso' card through the 'Big Shot using the 'Textured Impression Embossing Set' to create the frame. I then inserted a piece of 'Whisper White' card inside. Next i punched out the owl using the 'Owl Punch' (Body = 'Early Espresso', Body = 'Night of Navy', Stump and eyes = 'Crumb Cake', Eye = 'Whisper White', Pupils amd Eye-Punch = 'Basic Black'. I placed three 'Brads' to create buttons and glued the pirate owl together using the '2-way glue pen' (ideal for intricate gluing!) Here's a closeup of the owl:

Finally i ran some 'Early Espresso' along the bottom of the card, stamped the sentiment (from 'Petite Pairs', punched out using '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and mounted onto a 'Night of Navy' 'Scallop Circle'.
This ‘Owl Punch’ is brilliant and there is so much you can do with it – why not add it to your next order? Email over your orders today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Punch-Art Cat! (Featuring the amazing 'Owl Punch')

Hey all! Hope you;re having a good week! Today i have a card to share with you that i made at a recent 'Bird Punch' class that Jade hosted:

You will notice this card is very similar to the piggy card i shared with you last week! (Click here to view this card)
The card base is 'Whisper White' and we cleverly used a 'Crop-A-Dile' to punch holes down the left hand side of the card and then weaved a length of 'Early Espresso' 'Grosgrain Ribbon' through the holes and then back again and tied in a knot. I just love this technique - even if it is a little fidderly!!

Next we punched a 'Scallop Circle', from the 'Halloween DSP' (with the black cats) and then mounted a 'Whisper White' '1'3/8" Circle, which we embossed with the 'Square Lattice Embossing Folder' using the trusty 'Big Shot'
Next up we created the punch-art cat:

His head  has been created using the 'Owl Punch' - the owls body, with its feet chopped off, created from 'Soft Suede' card! His features have been punched also from the 'Owl Punch' and handdrawn using a 'Basic Black' 'Stampin' Write Marker'. Clever huh?!
Finally the friend sentiment (from the 'For My Family' set) has been stamped in 'Early Espresso' in onto a strip of 'Soft Suede' cardstock - which we handsniped into shape!
I just LOVE this card and the fabulous 'Owl Punch' - it is super versatile!! I can't stop using it!! If you want to order it for yourself then email over your order today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Just for 'Ewe' : A Punny Punchart Sheep Card!

Hey all, have you missed me?! Sorry I didn’t post yesterday – I have had a completely hectic week – working frantically marking mock exams for my A2 students and also prepping for a mammoth crafty workshop tomorrow (with 24 ladies!!) But I’m back with a card to share with you now!!
Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my good friend Ruth, who has been going through a tough time recently. She is the queen of punchart so know she will appreciate my efforts :
Onto a 'Whisper White' cardbase, i mounted an 'Old Olive' piece of card and then a smaller square of 'Marina Mist' to create the sky. Next up i created this cute little sheep created using the ‘Owl Punch’ punched from ‘Basic Black’ card, white ‘Scallop Circle’  body and ‘Word Window’ legs!!
I have placed this little sheep on ‘Scallop Die’ hills created using the ‘Big Shot’ from ‘Certainly Cerlery’ and ‘Old Olive’ card. I have sprinkled some flowers punched from ‘Regal Rose’ card , using the ‘Boho Blossoms Punch’ each with a ‘Brad’ placed in the centre!

Finally on a piece of 'Whisper White' i stamped the sentiment from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' set, selectively inking the 'just for' from the 'just for you' stamp and then handwriting the punny 'ewe' using a 'Stampin' Write Marker'
I’m totally In love with the ‘Owl Punch’ it is completely versatile and can be used in so many ways!! I CAN’T wait to show you more projects that I have made with it!

Crafty Boots Challenge: Good Luck!

Hey all!!! As you may know - for my full time job i'm a teacher - so this fortnights Crafty Boots Challenge is completely relevant to me! This week my AS students will be sitting their first exam!! AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! And of course i want to wish them the best of luck. So for this challenge i created some Good Luck bunting to hang in my classroom!!! And i made it all using my trusty 'Perfect Pennants Die' - bunting made nice and quickly with a roll of the 'Big Shot'!!:

I went with a 'Regal Rose', 'Melon Mambo', 'Rich Razzleberry' and 'Old Olive' colour combo. Chopping the large triangles out of cardstock using the 'Perfect Pennants Die' and the 'Big shot'. Then smaller triangles from a range of stripey and polkadot 'Brights DSP'. The letters have been stamped from the coordinating inks onto 'Whisper White' card using the brilliant 'Broadsheet Alphabets' stampset:

I punched these out and mounted them onto the bunting using a range of punches: '1 1/4" Circle Punch', '1-3/8" Circle Punch', '1-3/$" Circle Punch', 'Scallop Circle Punch' and the 'Perfect Pennant Die'. Here's close ups of each of the individual bunting triangles:

To finish off the card i punched some holes in each corner of the triangle and threaded through some 'Old Olive' 'Satin Ribbon'.

I'm really please with how this bunting has worked out and really do wish my students the best of luck with their exams! Why not enter the crafty boots challenge yourself! I look forward to seeing your entries!

And if you like the look of any of these products and would like to order them or have any questions feel free to drop me an email: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Many Ways To Use An Owl Punch! A Pig Card!

Hey all! I have had an amazingly crafty day today!! This morning i attended Jades 'Owl Punch' card - where she shared a range of ways you can use the punch alternatively to the typical owl creation!!! I just LOVE this punch, it's certainly very versatile!!:
So today i have a card to share with you that we made in Jades class, a Pig card!!:

We started with a 'Whisper White' square cardbase. Using a 'crop-a-dile' we punched holes down the spine of the card and double weaved a piece of 'Early Espresso' 'Grosgrain Ribbon' through and finished it off with a bow.

Next we punched a 'Scallop Circle' from some 'Soft Suede' card and then mounted a '1-3/8 Circle' of 'Whisper White' card embossed with the 'Big Shot' using the 'Square Lattice Embossing Folder'.

The pig was cleaverly created using the 'Owl Punch' (from 'Blushing Bride' cardstock). The head was created from the owl (with its feet chopped off). His eyes and nose also created using the punch. The pigs trotters were created from the owls belly (turned upside down). We glued all of this into place - using 'dimensionals' to create a 3D effect. We added in some detail using a 'Basic Black' 'Stampin' Write Marker'. Here's a close-up of the little porker:

Finally we stamped the sentiment from the 'All In The Family' stampset, which we handsnipped to create a banner.

I loved this punch already - but now utterly obsessed with this punch!!! I didn't realise how many things you could do with it!!

After the class i stayed and crafted with Jade all afternoon - coming up with even more 'Owl Punch' cards and lots more - i can't wait to share these with you! Thanks Jade for a completely enjoyable day!

If you want to add this punch to your crafty stash then why not make an order. Email me over your order today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Birthday Wishes For Harry!

Tomorrow is Harrys birthday! Harry is our friend Rory and Poppys little boy and i can't quite believe that he will be 2 tomorrow!!

Harry (and his brother Jack) are very good friends with our two cats Dewey and Crazy!! and so i knew i had to create a card that incorporated a cat in it somewhere, so i used the  wonderfully versatile 'Every Little Bit' stampset to create this card:

On a 'Tempting Turquoise' cardbase i stamped the birthday wishes sentiment from the 'Happiest Birthday Wishes' set onto the righthand bottom corner. Next i layered a piece of 'Whispr White' cardstock edged using the 'Eyelet Border Punch', onto which i glued a strip of 'Pacific Point DSP'.

Onto some 'Whisper White' card i stamped the dog, teddy bear and cat (all from the 'Every Little Bit' set) using 'Basic Black' ink and then coloured them in with a range of my 'Stampin' Write Markers'. I punched these images out using the '1-1/4" Circle Punch', then layered them onto some '1-3/8" Circles' punched from the same 'Pacific Point DSP', finally layering them onto the three 'Tempting Turquoise' 'Scallop Circles'.

I hope Harry has a fab birthday tomorrow and gets spoilt rotten!!!

Baby Shower Invites!

Hey all, i'm so excited! My sister and my friends are organising a baby shower for me! I'm to have very little involvement in the preperations myself. I just had to confirm the date, write a list of names to invite and oh yeah ... design and make the invites! But my sis is doing the rest!!!

So today i had a lovely day, out for breakfast with hubby this morning, shopping with sis this afternoon, then an evening of crafting and curry with sis!! This is the baby shower invite design we came up with:

This babygrow design was easily constucted by folding a 'Whisper White' cardbase at the top and then punching using '1-3/8" Circles' to create the neck and leg-holes of the babygrow! Next i ran the cardbase through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder' to add some texture. I punched out some 'Bashful Blue' 'Scallop Circles' and punched out the centre using the '1-3/8" Circle' to create the edging on the neck and legs! Finally i stamped the teddybear image (from the 'Every Little Bit' stampset) in 'Bashful Blue' ink using the 'Whisper White' card, punched it out using the '1-1/4" Circle Punch' and then mounted it onto a '1-3/8" Circle' of 'Bashful Blue' card. Now we just have to find time to make a big batch of them!!! Tomorrow is going to be a very crafty day!!!

One of these amazing stampsets that i will completely miss is the fab 'Fruit and Flowers' set:

So today i have a bright little 'Pillow Box' constructed using the 'Pillow Box Die' made using the 'Big Shot' (from 'Real Red' card) which i randomly stamped with the strawberry image using 'Real Red' ink (although i'm afraid my camera hasn't really picked up in this pic), which i have wrapped a belly-belt of 'Pear Pizzazz' card embossed using the 'Perfect Polkadot Embossing Folder'.

To complete this project i stamped the strawberry image using 'Real Red' and 'Old Olive' 'Stampin' Write Markers' onto some 'Whisper White' card which i punched out using the '1-1/4" Circle Punch' and then layered it onto a '1-3/8" Circle' of 'Pear Pizzazz' card and then onto a 'Real Red' 'Scallop Circle'.

There you have it - a nice simple project perfect for putting a small gift or some yummy sweets in!!

Hey guys, hope you all well! I'm so relieved that is the weekend! I've got some crafting scheduled in and can't wait!!!

I have a fab project to share with you today created by Jade and if you're a Sesame Street fan you will LOVE them!!:

The characters (from left to right) are Elmo, Oscar, Cookie Monster and Big Bird and have all been created using the 'Scallop Circle Punch', The 'Owl Punch' for the eyes and 'Word Window Punch' for Big Birds beak! Jade used a range of cardstock colours! She mounted these onto lollipop sticks to create bookmarks but you could easily pop these characters on a card!! I love these cute characters - they're so much fun aren't they?! Well done Jade for creating these cute characters!!

A Lovely Bunny Easter Card!!

I'm back again with another Easter card that i made at my friend Jade's recent Easter craft class:

So we began with a 'Bashful Blue' cardbase onto which we ran the across it also using 'Every Egg' Stampin' Up! roller using 'Bashful Blue' ink.

I just love this roller! It's sooooooooooooo cute! stampin' Up! have tonnes of Stampin' rollers sprinkled through the catalogue and they make amazing backgrounds and borders!!

Anyway ... going back to the card we stamped the easter sentiment from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' set inked in 'Chocolate Chip' onto some 'Whisper White card' which we punched out using the 'Word Window Punch'. We placed this in the bottom corner of the card using a 'Dimensional' to raise this slightly.

Next up we glued some 'Chocolate Chip' across the card and then ran some 'So Saffron' card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Perfect Polkadot Embossing Folder' to create some texture! We stamped the cute bunny from the 'Perfect Postage' stampset (only available until the end of the month as it is in the Spring Mini catalogue) inked in 'Chocolate chip', punched out using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and then glued onto a 'Chocolate Chip' 'Scallop Circle Punch' and then raised using 'Dimensionals'.

I just love this card, thanks Jade for demoing it to us! I'm sending this one to my in-laws in Spain to wish them a Happy Easter!!

Crafty Boots Challenge: Easter!

It's Crafty Boots Challenge time!! This fortnights challenge is unsuprisingly: EASTER!!! This fortnight we want to see your Easter creations!

So today for inspiration i have my DT creation to share with you:

It's a super cute Easter Chick created using the fabulous 'Top Note Die'! I have to be honest i was inspired by several versions of this online but tweeked it to make it my own.

The cardbase for this card is 'Pumpkin Pie'. The chick has been created from a 'Daffodil Delight' 'Top note' (created using the 'Big Shot') which i edged with 'Pumpkin Pie' ink applied with a 'Sponge Dauber'. His wings were also created using this technique created from a 'Scallop circle' cut in half! and his spiky hair was created by punching some card with the '5 Petal Flower Punch'.

His beak has been punched from some 'Pumpkin Pie' card using the 'Large Heart Punch' and then his eyes were glued on top, created by punching out two '1-1/4" Circles' from 'Whisper White' card and two 'Basic Black' '1/2" Circles'. His eyelets created from a 'Daffodil delight' '1-1/4" Circle' cut in half!

I cut a 'Pumpkin Pie' 'Scallop Circle' into quarters and used two parts to create his little feet, and finally finished him off by tying a bow (from retired ribbon) and sticking it place on his head!

Finally the sentiment is from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' set, inked in 'Pumpkin Pie' ink and then punched out using the 'Word Window Punch'.

I look forward to seeing your Easter themed projects - don't forget to enter them into the Crafty Boots Challenge!!

(Don't forget if you like the look of any of the products that i have used in this project you can order them through me! Why not check out the catalogues on the righthand side of this blog and then email over your order to amyjtidd@gmail.com

A Thankyou TopNote Card!!

Hey all! Hope you have had a good weekend. I have and can't believe it is almost over!! Today i went down to the seaside with my sisters and whilst there had a scrummy lunch and did lots of shopping!! I'm upset the weekends over but totally looking forward to the week ahead - tomorrow is my birthday and then on Tuesday we have our 20 week scan! Can't wait!!!

Unsuprisingly i haven't had a lot of time to craft this weekend but i have a thankyou card i made earlier in the week to share with you, that my friend Ruth asked me to make for her. I used a similar design to the 'Top Note' card that featured on my blog the other day. (See here) Fiona taught us how to make cards like this and i just love the layout and know i'll be using it a lot in the future:

The card base used is 'Crumb Cake'. The 'DSP' used in this card is from the 'Beau Chateau' and the 'Nursery Nest' collections. As you can see i have used the 'Top Note Die' in this design. The thanks stamp is from the 'Tagtastic' set, inked in 'Baja Breeze', punched with a '1-3/8" Circle Punch', layered onto a 'Soft Suede' 'Scallop Circle' with a little 'Baja Breeze' 'Seaming Ribbon' and a couple of 'Basic Pearls' to embellish the card!!

Ruth wanted these cards made to give to colleagues who accompanied her on an Duke Of Edinborough expedition with some of our students. Despite being nervous about the trip and all the organisations it all went well! It's the first one that Ruth has organised and she did a fab job! Well done Ruth!!

Don't forget if you like the look of any of the products i have used you can buy them straight from me (all orders of £45 will also earn yourself a FREE stampset or pack of paper!!) Email over your order today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Perfect Mothers Day Creation! Jades Flower Pot Card!

Back again with another creation that we made at Jades craft event last weekend. It was great fun! Each attendee designed a craftymake from Stampin' Up! products and brought the materials with them to share with everyone else!! Jade is planning to arrange another day like this in a couple of months time. Let me know if you would like to attend and you can come along as my guest!

Today i have Jades make which i have to say i love!! It is the perfect mothers day make!! It's a flower pot card which has largely cased  from Amy Celona at Ustamp4fun:

The flower pot has been created from some 'Crumb Cake' cardstock' cleverly folded and cut. Edged with the 'Scallop Trim Border Punch'. We ran some 'Very Vanilla' 'Seaming Ribbon' around the pot. The sentiment is from the 'Happiest Birthday Wishes' stampset (inked in 'Elegant Eggplant') and then punched using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch'. We layered this onto an 'Elegant Eggplant' 'Scallop Circle' before gluing it onto the pot!

The flowers are from the 'Vintage Vogue' stampset and have been inked with 'Perfect Plum' and 'Blushing Bride' onto 'Whisper White' card and then cut out and mounted with dimensionals onto the insert created from 'Whisper White' and 'Elegant Eggplant' card stock:

Additionally we added some foilage which has been punched out of 'Old Olive' card using the 'Two Step Bird Punch' and a lovely butterfly that has been cut using the 'Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die' from some 'Melon Mambo'. I couldn't resist adding some 'Basic Pearls to the flowers and butterflies for a bit of bling. Notice as well we stamped the foilage stamp from the 'Vintage Vogue' set in 'Old Olive' ink onto the insert as well! This insert could be used to write a message or even as a beautiful bookmark!

Now finally ... you may be wondering how this creation is standing up - as it is clearly not your conventional card design. Well here you go:

A cleverly folded strip of 'Elegant Eggplant' card props this card up on any mantelpiece!!

Thanks Jade for sharing this fab design with us! It was great fun to make and it would be perfect for any occassion - a birthday, mothers day or even a get well soon card!!

Fionas Spice Cake TopNote Card!

Today i have a fabulous card to share with you that a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Fiona shared with us at Jade's craft get together last weekend. It features the totally versatile 'Top Note Die' and the fanciful 'Spice Cake DSP' from the Spring Mini Catalogue:

I  haven't used this papers before but i have to say i've been completely converted. I love the vintage seventies feel that these designs have to offer!!

So here is the beautiful card we made:

We used a 'Soft Suede' cardbase and folded it in half and then folded the front side of the card in half again to create this unusual card design.

Here's a front few:

We layered some 'Spice Cake DSP' on the front 1/4 of the card, a strip on the edge of the inside edge and the edge on the lefthand edge. To create the front of the card we ran some a piece of 'Soft Suede', a piece of 'Spice Cake DSP' and 'Very Vanilla' card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Top Note Die'. I cut around the 'DSP' 'Top Note' perforated edge to create a smaller top note shape and mounted it onto the 'Soft Suede' 'Top Note' and then glued it onto the front of the class. In the centre of this i placed a 'Soft Suede' 'Scallop Circle', some 'Very Vanilla' 'Seaming Ribbon' and then stamped the birthday sentiment (from the 'Happiest Birthday Wishes' stampset' in 'Soft Suede' ink onto 'Very Vanilla' card, punching it out with the 'Scallop Circle Punch'.

We stamped the small flower image from the 'Spice Paisley' stampset all over the inside of the card using 'Soft Suede' ink to create a background and then glued the 'Very Vanilla' 'Top Note', stamping another small flower in the corner.

Here's a view of the completed card open, so you can hopefully make sense of my wittering instructions!:

I really enjoyed playing with these papers. Thankyou Fiona for sharing this wonderful creation with us!! I will most definately be using this type of layout again! Watch this space!!

And don't forget products in the mini catalogue are only available until the end of April so if you want to get your crafty mits on these fab papers then make an order sooner rather than later!!! Email me today: amyjtidd@gmail.com
