Good Luck Cate!

Last week my friend (and upline) Cate officially left teaching to concentrate on other things. So i made her this card to wish her good luck in her future endeavours!

A nice bright card, featuring a range of colours from the 'Stampin' Up! Bright Collection'. I started off with a 'Melon Mambo' cardbase. On 'Whisper White' card i stamped the letters (from the 'Broadsheet Alphabet' set using 'Melon Mambo', 'Tempting Turquoise', 'Daffodil Delight' and 'Rich Razzleberry' ink. I punched these out using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and then layered these onto 'Regal Rose','Tempting Turquoise', 'Daffodil Delight' and 'Rich Razzleberry' '1-3/8" Circles' to create the good luck sentiment. I finally finished off this card with a little bit of bling! Adding some 'Basic Rhinestones' to the card!!

I wish Cate the best of luck with her plans!! Don't forget if you would like to make an order feel free to email me: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Crafty Meal Planner

As many of you probably know next month Baby Tiddlywink is due!! It's our first baby and i'm very keen to get into good organised routines before his arrival. One thing i have been trialing is bulk cooking and planning meals ahead so i customised a notepad to allow me to note down meal plans:

This was a pretty quick crfaty project. I simply covered a cheap notepad (from Wilkinsons) in 'Holly Berry Bouquet' and glued a strip of 'Cherry Cobbler' card along the top. Next up i used the 'Broadsheet Alphabet Stampset' to stamp the letters in 'Cherry Cobbler' and 'Pear Pizzazz' ink onto 'Very Vanilla' card. I punched them out using the '1-1/4" Circle Punch' and then mounted them onto '1-3/8" Circles'. Finally i glued a very strong magnet (brought on e-bay) to the back so i can pop it on my fridge and scribble meal plans and recipes in it. Fingers crossed it'll make me more organised! We'll see!!!

Crafty Boots Challenge: Good Luck!

Hey all!!! As you may know - for my full time job i'm a teacher - so this fortnights Crafty Boots Challenge is completely relevant to me! This week my AS students will be sitting their first exam!! AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! And of course i want to wish them the best of luck. So for this challenge i created some Good Luck bunting to hang in my classroom!!! And i made it all using my trusty 'Perfect Pennants Die' - bunting made nice and quickly with a roll of the 'Big Shot'!!:

I went with a 'Regal Rose', 'Melon Mambo', 'Rich Razzleberry' and 'Old Olive' colour combo. Chopping the large triangles out of cardstock using the 'Perfect Pennants Die' and the 'Big shot'. Then smaller triangles from a range of stripey and polkadot 'Brights DSP'. The letters have been stamped from the coordinating inks onto 'Whisper White' card using the brilliant 'Broadsheet Alphabets' stampset:

I punched these out and mounted them onto the bunting using a range of punches: '1 1/4" Circle Punch', '1-3/8" Circle Punch', '1-3/$" Circle Punch', 'Scallop Circle Punch' and the 'Perfect Pennant Die'. Here's close ups of each of the individual bunting triangles:

To finish off the card i punched some holes in each corner of the triangle and threaded through some 'Old Olive' 'Satin Ribbon'.

I'm really please with how this bunting has worked out and really do wish my students the best of luck with their exams! Why not enter the crafty boots challenge yourself! I look forward to seeing your entries!

And if you like the look of any of these products and would like to order them or have any questions feel free to drop me an email: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... i'd actually scheduled this for last night, but for some reason the post didn't materialise?! So you'll get two posts today to compensate!!

I'm so lucky to have so many crafty friends and some them have put some time aside to craft some beautiful christmas cards to send to me!! I love recieving Christmas cards - and they're one of my most favourite christmas decorations! They instantly makes a room look beautifully christmassy!!

So i thought over the next couple of blog posts i'd share these with you!!! So here you go:

Card from Sally:

Sally is a fellow Stampin' up! demo and very good friend of mine and she sent me this beautiful card. I just love Sal's style!! She has started with a 'Cherry Cobbler' cardbase, she has made a beautiful bow from some Stampin' Up! 'Crochet Trim Ribbon' along the bottom. The N,O,E,L have been stamped using the 'Broadsheet Alphabet' stampset using 'Cherry Cobbler' ink onto 'Whisper White' card. She punched them out using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and then layered them onto some 'Scallop Circles' punched out of 'Holly Berry Bouquet DSP'. I just love this design! Thankyou so much Sally!!

Card from Ruth:

Ruthie is a really good friend of mine (and Stampin' Up! customer) and she made me this beautiful card! She used a 'Whisper White' cardbase. She stamped the bauble from the 'Contempo Christmas' in 'Cherry Cobbler' ink, she punched it out using the 'Ornament Punch'. She layered it on a piece of 'Very Vanilla' and then on a piece of 'Tempting Turquoise' card. She stamped the christmas sentiment (also from the 'Contempo Christmas' set in 'Tempting Turquoise' ink. She finished off the card by punching a strip of 'Tempting Turquoise' using the 'Ribbon Lace Punch'.

For you Dad...

Another Fathers Day make to share with you today. Here's the gift that i made for my Dad. It's a folding picture book, created from 'Pacific Point', 'Real Red' and 'Daffodil Delight' cardstock and 'DSP' from the 'Brights' collection.

Here's the front of the folding book. Notice that i have also used some 'Real Red' 'Grosgrain Ribbon' to embellish the project. I have created the 'DAD' sentiment has been created from the 'Broadsheet Alphabet' stampset.

The book folds out, and i've placed lots of special photos of my dad with me and my sister in there:

Here's the project completely unfolded:

You may have noticed that i have also placed 'Designer Buttons' and 'Basic Rhinestones' around the pictures to create a little extra detail. I have created a centre focus to this project, where i have placed a message for my dad. I used a range of 'Circle Punches' and the 'Scallop Circle' Punch, with a button placed in the centre. Here's the very centre of this folded book project:

My Dad seemed very suprised by my creation! I think it may have been some time since he has seen these pictures!! I hope he liked it!!

You can of course make a folding book for any occassion - a special birthday, wedding or anniversary - it's the perfect sentimental present!!!

May the Forth Be With You!

Hi all, Hope you are well! I can't believe how quickly the week is flying by!! Today is my friend Lucinda's little boy's first birthday!! Happy 1st Birthday Harry!!!

Here is the card that i made for the little man:

This card is CASE'd from my upline Cate (Blueangelcrafts). The card used is ' Wild Wasabi', 'Bashful Blue' and 'Whisper White'. Firstly i created the 'Harry' using 'Bashful Blue' and 'Wild Wasabi' ink and the 'Broadsheet Alphabet' stampset (I used the 'stamp-a-ma-jig' to line up the letters nice and straight). The 'is' is handwritten using an 'Old Olive' 'Stampin' Write Marker' and the '1' is created using 'Schoolbook Serif Numbers' set.

The tumbling monkeys come from the 'Fox & Friends' stampset, inked in 'Soft Suede' and then i have coloured in their faces using 'Crumb Cake' ink and a blender pen! They look mischevious don't they!?!

I hope little Harry likes his card! I was really tempted to make him a Star Wars card given the fact his birthday is on May the 4th, but i'm sure he will be sick of that joke in a few more years time!!

I also want to take the opportunity with this post to plug Lucinda's blog: Bakes, Books and my Boys. It is absolutely fabulous. Seriously this blog could easily be transformed into a book and make her millions! It's a brilliant guide to becoming a perfect housewife! Please take a look!!

Getting my craft gear in order!!!

Hiya all! IT'S THE WEEKEND!! Woo hoo!!! and what a lovely Saturday i've had!!

This morning i went to my upline Cate's (Blue Angel Crafts) for some team training!! It was lovely to catch up and get some tips on how to run workshops!! We also had an opportunity to have a sneaky play with products from the soon to be released mini catalogue!! Here's a pic of me and some of the team. Diane (Crafty Ducks) and Katie (Deep Blue Crafting) having a crafty moment:

Unfortunately i cannot show you anything we made quite yet - you will have to be patient and wait until the 1ST APRIL!! (I plan to hold a launch party in April and everyone is welcome - check back at the blog for details!!)

This afternoon i have been have been organising all my Stampin' Up! gear!! I couldn't resist having a play with a new stampset of mine 'Broadsheet Alphabet' to make some labels for my craft storage boxes!!! Here they are all together:

The inks used are all from the 'brights' collection and the mounted cardstock is the lovely 'Tempting Turquoise'

And i couldn't resist punching out some butterfly's using the wonderful 'Butterfly punch'!!

I love the quirky font!! Some of the letters i have slightly masked using a simple little post it note) This has prevented the stamps from overlapping and looking messy. (I learnt this technique recently at Cate's craft retreat!!) You may be wondering how i managed to keep it all straight and neat - well i used the AMAZING 'Stamp-a-ma-jig' which i simply cannot craft without!! (If you would like a demo of how to use the 'Stamp-a-ma-jig' tool, which will allow you to do two-step stampin and lots of other wonderful things why not book a workshop!!)

Well anyway, i'm planning to continue with the craftiness and have a play with some of the mini catalogue products! I can't wait to share these with you!!! Have a great weekend! x
