Crafty Boots Challenge: Postcards!

Hey all, i present to you all this fortnights Crafty Boots Challenge. Which this time has been set by Gabrielle. The challenge theme is: Postcards (think holidays, sand, sea and sun!)

I'm not gonna lie - i found this one a challenge. There are several Stampin' Up! stampsets i could have used but unfortunately didn't have them to hand, so i had to improvise and go down the holiday theme. This is what i came up with:

I've created a seaside themed 'step-card'. The cardbase is the appropriately named 'Pool Party' which i folded to create the three 'steps'.

The first step represents the sand and i cut and layered a piece of my hubbys sandpaper to create the texture. The shells have been stamped from the beautiful 'Natures Nest' stampset - i stamped these onto some 'Very Vanilla' cardstock using 'Soft Suede' ink and then layered them up on one another and placed a 'Basic Pearl' in the centre of the top one.

The sea layer is created from some aptly named 'Marina Mist' cardstock which i ran through the 'Big Shot' a few times using the 'Adorning Accent Embossing Folders' to create the embossed sea waves. I then stamped the cute little fishes (from the the fab 'Something Sweet' stampset) using 'Pumpkin Pie' ink onto some scraps of 'Whisper White' cut them out by hand and glued them in place.

To create the sky layer i worked with the 'Pool Party' base as the sky and created the two clouds by punching a piece of 'Whisper White' card using the 'Scallop Circle' punch and cutting it into two. I used my 'Bashful BBlue' Stampin' Write Marker' to add some detail to the edges of the cloud before gluing them to the base (the smaller cloud being attached in place using 'Dimensionals' to raise it up.)
Finally the sun has been created from 'Daffodil Delight' cardstock and 'Grosgrain Ribbon'. I punched out the card using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and then cut four pieces of ribbon and layered them behind to create the sunrays. I wrote the sentiment by hand using my 'Pumpkin Pie' 'Stampin' Write Marker'!

Hope you have time to have a go at this challenge - i can't wait to see all your creations! And make sure you check back to Crafty Boots Challenge Blog next fortnight as i have set the challenge and i think it will be a popular one!!

Jades Sweet Treat Card!!

Hey all! I have had a fabulously crafty day with five other ladies sharing projects and ideas, as well as having a good chat and lots of scrummy food!!!

I can't wait to share with you the projects we made (some of them you may have to wait for as they feature lots of yummy projects from the new summer catty that is out from the 1st of May!!

Anyway... today i have a great card to share with you designed by Jade featuring Stampin' Up! brilliant 'Sweet Treat cups' and the 'Something Sweet' stampset:

Onto a 'Tempting Turquoise' cardbase we layered some 'Cheerful Treat DSP' (available at a reduced price as a hostess product!) On a piece of 'Whisper White' we stamped the bubblegum machine image from the 'Something Sweet' stampset, then punched out a hole using the '1-3/4" Circle Punch' and then using the 'Stamp-a-ma-jig' carefully stamped the lid of the bubblegum machine (all in 'Tempting Turquoise' ink) We then carefully punched another '1-3/4" Circle' onto a piece of 'Tempting Turquoise' card and then sandwiched a 'Sweet Treat' cup inbetween the white and blue card.

Before gluing this down we cut (by hand) a small circle onto the actual cardbase (approx 1/2" in size) and then we randomly stamped the jellybean image (from the 'Something Sweet' set) onto another small piece of 'Whisper White' (using 'Melon Mambo' ink) attached a 'Tempting Turquoise' 'Round Tab'.

The idea is now to glue down the bubblegum machine image - ensuring you allow the jellybean tab to easily slide out. Final stage is to fill the 'Sweet Treat Cup' with sweeties of your choice through the 1/2" circle hole in the back. Allowing the recipient to have easy access to the sugary sweetness! Clever huh?!

Finally we stamped the sentiment (also from the 'Something Sweet' stampset) and punched it out using the 'Decorative Label Punch'.

I just love this card and hope you do too! If you want to have this stampset and sweet treat cups for yourself then why not make an order today - email it over to me at amyjtidd@gmail.com (don't forget until the end of the month you will recieve a FREE pack of DSP with every order of £45 and i will also provide you with FREE P&P!)

Crafty Boots Challenge: Song Title - You Are My Sunshine!!

Hey CraftyThINKers!! It's time for another Crafty Boots Challenge and this fortnight the theme is 'Song Titles'. Your mission if you choose to accept it is to create a craft project reflecting a song title of your choice!!

So here is my Design Team offering themed around the song 'You Are My Sunshine' which is a song which has a very special place in my heart because i can remember my Grandad teaching it to me when i was a little girl and can literally hear him singing it to me if i close my eyes! Special memories!!

The 'you are my sunshine' sentiment and the leaves are stamps from the 'Something Sweet' set, which i have inked in 'Old Olive' ink, stamped onto 'Whisper White' card. To create the flower i punched four 'Scallop Circles' from 'Just Add Cake DSP Collection' and then folded each of them into quarters before arranging them into a flower shape. I placed a large 'Daffodil Delight' 'Designer Button' in the centre, and then layered a cute flower shaped 'Pumpkin Pie' 'Designer Button' in the centre of that. (Securing it in place with 'Red Sticky Tape'.) I placed three 'Bright Brads' - 'Pumpkin Pie', 'Daffodil Delight' and 'Old Olive' down the righthand bottom corner of the 'Whisper White' card. I mounted this onto an 'Old Olive' cardbase and finished of the card with a strip of 'DSP' from the 'Beyond The Garden' range and then a much thinner strip of 'Just Add Cake DSP'.

I hope you like the card, i have to admit i found this challenge a tricky one!! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Finally, before you go... just a reminder that tomorrow is the launch of the annual 'Sale-A-Bration' promotion!!

Basically the deal is that you get a FREE exclusive stampset or pack of 'DSP' with every £45 purchase you make!! AND I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE THESE WITH YOU!!

So please visit back tomorrow when you can see each of these limited stampsets for the first time!!

Crafty Boots Challenge: Young at Heart!

Yep, it's that time again - time for another Crafty Boots Challenge! This fortnight the challenge is 'Young at Heart' (this could be anything child related or even reminiscent of children, bright colours etc.) So here's my Design Team offering:

I have used a really fun stampset from Stampin' Up! called 'Something Sweet'. I started off with a 'Real Red' cardbase and layered some 'Daffodil Delight' 'DSP'. Next i got a piece of 'Pacific Point' cardstock and punched a '1-3/4" Circle' out of it. I also got a strip of 'Real Red' card and edged it using the 'Eyelet Border Punch' and glued them together.
I stamped the gumball machine and its lid (onto some 'Whisper White' card) using 'Tempting Turquoise' and 'Basic Grey' (using 'Stampin' Write Markers'). I carefully cut this image out and glued this on the 'Pacific Point Card either side of the punched hole. I then stamped out lots of gumballs in a selection of colours and punched them out using a '1/2" Circle Punch' and arranged them until i was happy with their position and glued them down. I then placed a 'Treat Cup' through the '1-3/8" Circle' before gluing down the 'Pacific Point Card!

Finally i stamped out the sentiment in 'Real Red' ink and punched it out using the 'Modern Label Punch'. I punched out two small holes using my 'Crop-a-dile' and then threaded some 'Real Red' 'Taffeta Ribbon', tucking it behind the 'DSP'.

A lovely bright birthday card, reminiscent of my childhood - i loved my gumball machine when i was a kid! I hope you like my creation! This stampset is fab and is so versatile - you can create so many wonderful cards with it! There are so many pieces to the set - take a look:

I'm always processing Stampin' Up! orders, so if you fancy placing an order drop me an email with your order: amyjtidd@gmail.com

I hope you find a moment to enter the challenge - i can't wait to see your creations!!
