Crafty Boots Challenge: ONE!

It's that time again - another Crafty Boots Challenge and i have to admit when i saw the theme i was a little confused!! The theme this fortnight is ONE... and it is as open ended as it sounds! The reason for this theme is because Crafty Boots Challenge is now ONE year old!!!

With my very busy schedule of being a new mummy i haven't been very adventurous and have interpretted the theme as 'ONE' brand of crafting products AND YES UNSUPRISINGLY THAT BRAND IS OF COURSE STAMPIN' UP!!

I started with a 'Blushing Bride' cardbase which i ran through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Manhatten Rose Embossing Folder'. I placed a strip of 'Whisper White' cardstock along the top of the card which i edged using the 'Eyelet Border Punch', before gluing it down i tied a piece of 'Baja Breeze' 'Seaming Ribbon' around and tied a bow!

The sentiment is from the hostess stampset 'Tagtastic' inked in 'Baja Breeze' and then punched out using the 'Decorative Label Punch. I placed a couple of tiny 'Basic Pearls' on it (although the photo doesn't pick these up well - sorry) and then layered it on a 'Baja Breeze' 'Decorative Label' which has been snipped in half to elongate it.

If you would like to order any Stampin' Up! products and you don't have a demonstrator you can order through me regardless of your location as all orders are delivered by UPS! The catalogues are available to view of the righthand side of my blog. There is a BRAND NEW winter mini catalogue available and also Stampin' Up! retirement list with some amazing sale prices!! If you like what you see email an order over to me today!! My email address is amyjtidd@gmail.com

I look forward to seeing your interpretation of the theme!

A 'Boho Blossom' Wedding Card!

Today is our friends Jen and Andy's wedding reception - they got married in Sicily a month or so ago and tonight it their UK wedding reception. Here is the card i made for them:

I started off by punching out lots and lots of little flowers from 'Very Vanilla' and 'Blushing Bride' cardstock and 'Beau Chateau DSP' using the 'Boho Blossom Punch'. I very patiently glued them into a heart shape onto a square of 'Crumbcake' card. I then mounted this onto a square of 'Very Vanilla' before gluing it onto a 'Blushing Bride' cardbase. I wrapped a knotted piece of 'Very Vanilla' 'Seam Binding Ribbon' around the spine of the card. Finally i stamped the 'for the newlyweds' sentiment from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' stampset using 'Crumbcake' ink onto some 'Blushing Bride' card, which i punched out using the 'Word Window Punch'. I secured this onto the cardbase using 'Dimensionals' to give it a 3D effect!

I hope Jen and Andy have an amazing evening!!

Baby Shower Candle!!

I can't believe i haven't posted this sooner. As you may well know a couple of weeks ago i had my baby shower and my friend Cate made me this lovely candle as a gift using the fabby 'Babys Prints' stampset from the 'Summer Mini Catalogue':

Cate used a plain church candle and stamped the super cute baby foot prints and the sentiment from the 'Baby Print' set onto white tissue paper. The tissue paper was then attached to the candle using heat from her 'Embossing Heat Gun'!! How clever!!

To finish she gift wrapped it in cellophane and added some bows (created from 'White Organza Ribbon' and 'Baja Breeze' 'Seam Binding Ribbon'. She made a label from  parchement paper and 'Baja Breeze' card, Cate embossed  the baby foot print and the sentiment using 'White Embossing Powder'.

Such a beautiful gift!! Thankyou so much Cate! It is currently sitting pride of place in Baby Tiddlywinks nursery as the colours perfectly coordinate with the decor!!

I can't wait to have a go at stamping onto candles - beware everyone - guess what you'll all be getting for christmas!!!

Wedding Invites!!

You may recall on several of my blogposts that i have mentioned that i have been helping out Jade's friend Tori create her wedding invitations. Well tonight we had yet another impromptu crafty get together to work on operation wedding invites... i think we have almost finished now and Tori has given me permission to share her beautiful designs with you all. So here they are:

As you can see Tori has gone with an autuminal theme. She used some 'Peach Parfait' card which has been embossed with the 'Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder'and then we've placed some 'Basic Rhinestones' in the centre of the flowers. You will see that the V&A has been inked in the co-ordinating inks ('Pear Pizzazz' and 'Peach Parfait') using the 'Monogram Sweet Alphabet' stampset onto 'Whisper White' cardstock, which has been punched out using the 'Decorative Label Punch' and then bordered on some 'Pear Pizzazz' card (also cut out using the 'Decorative Label' punch. All of this had been mounted on a 'Crumbcake' cardbase. Finally two holes have been punched at the bottom of the card using the trusty 'Crop-a-dile' and then some 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Seam Binding Ribbon' has been used to tie the cards up ready to be sent!! We have now as a group create over 70 of these cards!! Which sounds like a lot, but with an productive production line hasn't taken too long!!

Don't you just love the design!! Making your own wedding invites may sound daunting but with a little advice and some patience anyone can make them - and at leat you know you're going to get exactly what you want! (And it works out much cheaper too!!)

Wedding Sweet! A MUST HAVE Wedding Stampset!

Hey all, i have had to schedule todays blog post as i have a super busy day today - i'm working ALL day and then off straight away afterwards to the O2 arena to go and watch the Westlife farewell tour with my good friend Ruth!! Woo hoo!

So today i have a card to share with you using the beautiful 'Wedding Sweet' stampset:

This card has been created using a 'Whisper White' cardbase (created from a piece of A4 cardstock cut i half length ways, folded in half and then the front folded back on itself. Onto the front panel i layered a piece of 'Blushing Bride' card stock.

Next up i ran a piece of 'Pear Pizzazz' cardstock and a piece of 'Whisper White' through the 'Big Shot' using the fab 'Top Note Die', trimming around the perforated edge of the 'Whisper White' 'Top Note' and then mounting it onto the green 'Top Note'. Onto the 'Whisper White' 'Top Note' shape i stamped the foilage image from the 'Wedding Sweet' stampset, using 'Pear Pizzazz' ink and then placed some teeny tiny 'Basic Pearls' over the little dots!

I then ran some 'Blushing Bride' cardstock through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, creating the cute little butterflies!

Finally i stamped the 'congratulations' sentiment - also from the 'Wedding Sweet' set ink 'Pear Pizzazz'. (You may also notice that i wrapped a piece of 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Seaming Ribbon' around the spine of the card!!

Here is a pic of the card open:

This card can be used for a range of purposes a engagement/ wedding/ anniversary congratulations card, or with a change of sentiment an engagement/ wedding/ anniversay invitation, Save the dates, RSVP card or Thankyou cards!

The 'Wedding Sweet' stampset is a MUST HAVE if you're intending to make your own wedding stationary...

Button Buddies Baby Rattle Card!

Today i have a card to share with you using the fab 'Button Buddies' stampset:
This stampset is quite literally AMAZING ... because it completely coordinates with the 'Stampin' Up! Designer Buttons'. I have had a lot od fun recently playing with this set and last week created this card:

This card features 'Nursery Nest DSP' - which you can recieve for FREE throughout April if you make an order of £45! I love this paper collection - and it is SO versatile! I layered this paper onto a 'Pear Pizzazz' cardbase. I ran a piece of knotted 'Seaming Ribbon' around the card.

I ran some 'Pear Pizzazz' and 'Pink Pirouetter' card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Perfect Pennant Die' to create the doily shapes and layered them on top of one another - using some 'Dimensionals' to create a 3D effect! Next on a piece of 'Whisper White' card i stamped the sentiment 'welcome baby' from the 'Petite Pairs' stampset in 'Pear Pizzazz' and the rattle image (from the 'Button Buddies' set) in 'Marina Mist'. I finally attached a 'Marina Mist' 'Designer Button' with some 'Linen Thread' tied through!

If you want to make an order - and get a pack of DSP for free, don't delay! Catalogues are on the right of this blog for your viewing. Email over your order to amyjtidd@gmail.com

Patchwork Everyday Enchantment Fox and Tortoise Cards!

Hey all, back again today with more cards that feature retiring Sale-a-bration papers - 'Everyday Enchantment DSP'. If you would like to own these papers for yourself you will have to make a qualifying order by the end of this week... don't delay - email over your order today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Today i have a card inspired by my upline Cate - but altered a bit to suit my style. So here are the two cards:

The cardbase is 'Poppy Parade'. On which i layered some 'Very Vanilla' card. I stamped the 'thankyou' sentiment from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' on the bottom, using 'Chocolate Chip' ink. I punched out 12 squares using the 'Postage Stamp Punch' for each of these cards from 'Everyday Enchantment DSP'  and layered them. On both cards i punched a piece of 'Very Vanilla' using the 'Modern Label Punch', which i 'Sponge Daubed' using 'Chocolate Chip' ink and tucked a piece of 'Very Vanilla' 'Seaming Ribbon' before gluing it in place.

The differentiating feature of the two cards are the characters that i have used form the 'Fox and Friends' set. First up the cute tortoise, which i inted using 'Pear Pizzazz' and 'Chocolate Chip' 'Stampin' Write Markers' and raised using a 'Dimensional' to give a 3D effect:

Next up the wise old owl!! Which i inked in 'Chocolate Chip', cut out and raised using a 'Dimensional':

A Mothers Day Card For My Nan!

Another Mothers Day make to share with you today that i made last week for my Nan. As i was in hospital on Sunday my lovely hubby had to go round and deliver the flowers and the card. My Nan is like a second Mum to me - i love her to pieces and i hope she had a lovely day!

Here's the card i made for her:

The cardbase is 'Wisteria Wonder', on which i layered some 'Pear Pizzazz' card and a piece of 'Whisper White' - on which i stamped the flower image from the 'Blessed Mother' stampset (using 'Perfect Plum' and 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Stampin' Write Markers'). I wrapped a knotted piece of 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Seaming Ribbon' around before gluing it in place. I ran some 'Wisteria Wonder' card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Timeless Type Alphabet Die' to create the 'Nan'.

Finally i stamped the sentiment from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' stampset and punched it out using the 'Word Window Punch' and placed in the left hand corner of the card and placed a little 'Pear Pizzazz' butterfly (created using 'Pear Pizzazz' card, the 'Big Shot' and the 'Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die') finishing it off with a couple of 'Basic Pearls'.

Don't forget if you like the look of this card and want to buy the materials to make something similar yourself you can place a Stampin' Up! order through me. Just email it over: amyjtidd@gmail.com (And don't forget the Sale-a-bration promotion is still on til the end of the month - so if you spend £45 or more you can also get an exclusive stampset or paper pack for FREE - see the righthand side of this blog for more details!) For my Birthday Twin!

Woo hoo!! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! So looking forward to going out for a meal tonight with some of my bestest friends!!

Today i have a card to share with you that i have made for a good friend of mine, who also shares the same birthday as me - all the best people are born on the 12th March!! So happy birthday Cate!!

I started with a 'Very Vanilla' cardbase. I wrapped a piece of 'Baja Breeze' 'Seaming Ribbon' around a  piece of 'DSP' from the 'Beau Chateau Collection' and glued it onto the card base. Next i ran a piece of 'Very Vanilla' through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Manhatten Rose Embossing Folder'. I handsnipped the design and cut out the roses, layering them onto the DSP. I was originally going to put a sentiment on the front, but couldn't work out where to pop it so ended up popping it in the inside. Instead i placed three blingy 'Basic Rhinestones' on the front!

I'm not sure if i will have time to deliver this to Cate tomorrow so i may have to give her this on Wednesday at work. I hope you have a brilliant day!!

A Thankyou TopNote Card!!

Hey all! Hope you have had a good weekend. I have and can't believe it is almost over!! Today i went down to the seaside with my sisters and whilst there had a scrummy lunch and did lots of shopping!! I'm upset the weekends over but totally looking forward to the week ahead - tomorrow is my birthday and then on Tuesday we have our 20 week scan! Can't wait!!!

Unsuprisingly i haven't had a lot of time to craft this weekend but i have a thankyou card i made earlier in the week to share with you, that my friend Ruth asked me to make for her. I used a similar design to the 'Top Note' card that featured on my blog the other day. (See here) Fiona taught us how to make cards like this and i just love the layout and know i'll be using it a lot in the future:

The card base used is 'Crumb Cake'. The 'DSP' used in this card is from the 'Beau Chateau' and the 'Nursery Nest' collections. As you can see i have used the 'Top Note Die' in this design. The thanks stamp is from the 'Tagtastic' set, inked in 'Baja Breeze', punched with a '1-3/8" Circle Punch', layered onto a 'Soft Suede' 'Scallop Circle' with a little 'Baja Breeze' 'Seaming Ribbon' and a couple of 'Basic Pearls' to embellish the card!!

Ruth wanted these cards made to give to colleagues who accompanied her on an Duke Of Edinborough expedition with some of our students. Despite being nervous about the trip and all the organisations it all went well! It's the first one that Ruth has organised and she did a fab job! Well done Ruth!!

Don't forget if you like the look of any of the products i have used you can buy them straight from me (all orders of £45 will also earn yourself a FREE stampset or pack of paper!!) Email over your order today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Perfect Mothers Day Creation! Jades Flower Pot Card!

Back again with another creation that we made at Jades craft event last weekend. It was great fun! Each attendee designed a craftymake from Stampin' Up! products and brought the materials with them to share with everyone else!! Jade is planning to arrange another day like this in a couple of months time. Let me know if you would like to attend and you can come along as my guest!

Today i have Jades make which i have to say i love!! It is the perfect mothers day make!! It's a flower pot card which has largely cased  from Amy Celona at Ustamp4fun:

The flower pot has been created from some 'Crumb Cake' cardstock' cleverly folded and cut. Edged with the 'Scallop Trim Border Punch'. We ran some 'Very Vanilla' 'Seaming Ribbon' around the pot. The sentiment is from the 'Happiest Birthday Wishes' stampset (inked in 'Elegant Eggplant') and then punched using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch'. We layered this onto an 'Elegant Eggplant' 'Scallop Circle' before gluing it onto the pot!

The flowers are from the 'Vintage Vogue' stampset and have been inked with 'Perfect Plum' and 'Blushing Bride' onto 'Whisper White' card and then cut out and mounted with dimensionals onto the insert created from 'Whisper White' and 'Elegant Eggplant' card stock:

Additionally we added some foilage which has been punched out of 'Old Olive' card using the 'Two Step Bird Punch' and a lovely butterfly that has been cut using the 'Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die' from some 'Melon Mambo'. I couldn't resist adding some 'Basic Pearls to the flowers and butterflies for a bit of bling. Notice as well we stamped the foilage stamp from the 'Vintage Vogue' set in 'Old Olive' ink onto the insert as well! This insert could be used to write a message or even as a beautiful bookmark!

Now finally ... you may be wondering how this creation is standing up - as it is clearly not your conventional card design. Well here you go:

A cleverly folded strip of 'Elegant Eggplant' card props this card up on any mantelpiece!!

Thanks Jade for sharing this fab design with us! It was great fun to make and it would be perfect for any occassion - a birthday, mothers day or even a get well soon card!!

Fionas Spice Cake TopNote Card!

Today i have a fabulous card to share with you that a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Fiona shared with us at Jade's craft get together last weekend. It features the totally versatile 'Top Note Die' and the fanciful 'Spice Cake DSP' from the Spring Mini Catalogue:

I  haven't used this papers before but i have to say i've been completely converted. I love the vintage seventies feel that these designs have to offer!!

So here is the beautiful card we made:

We used a 'Soft Suede' cardbase and folded it in half and then folded the front side of the card in half again to create this unusual card design.

Here's a front few:

We layered some 'Spice Cake DSP' on the front 1/4 of the card, a strip on the edge of the inside edge and the edge on the lefthand edge. To create the front of the card we ran some a piece of 'Soft Suede', a piece of 'Spice Cake DSP' and 'Very Vanilla' card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Top Note Die'. I cut around the 'DSP' 'Top Note' perforated edge to create a smaller top note shape and mounted it onto the 'Soft Suede' 'Top Note' and then glued it onto the front of the class. In the centre of this i placed a 'Soft Suede' 'Scallop Circle', some 'Very Vanilla' 'Seaming Ribbon' and then stamped the birthday sentiment (from the 'Happiest Birthday Wishes' stampset' in 'Soft Suede' ink onto 'Very Vanilla' card, punching it out with the 'Scallop Circle Punch'.

We stamped the small flower image from the 'Spice Paisley' stampset all over the inside of the card using 'Soft Suede' ink to create a background and then glued the 'Very Vanilla' 'Top Note', stamping another small flower in the corner.

Here's a view of the completed card open, so you can hopefully make sense of my wittering instructions!:

I really enjoyed playing with these papers. Thankyou Fiona for sharing this wonderful creation with us!! I will most definately be using this type of layout again! Watch this space!!

And don't forget products in the mini catalogue are only available until the end of April so if you want to get your crafty mits on these fab papers then make an order sooner rather than later!!! Email me today: amyjtidd@gmail.com

Who is for cupcakes?!

Who doesn't like a cake or two?! Well this is the most perfect birthday card for all you cake lovers out there!!

I made this card whilst i was having around Jades house on Friday night. Jade invited me and Kat around for a fab night crafting and Jade even cooked us an amazing Chinese meal!

Jade had a cupcake template which i used to cute out a cardbase from 'Whisper White' card. I cut out some 'Pink Pirouette' card in the shape of the cupcake and ran it through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Square Lattice Embossing Folder' to create the icing for the cupcake! The cherry on the top was stamped using the 'Button Buddies' stampset and some 'Rose Red' ink, placing it on the top with a 'Dimensional'. I then cut out some 'Melon Mambo' 'DSP' to create the cupcake case and used the 'Scallop Trim Border Punch' to edge it! (Before gluing it down i wrapped some 'Very Vanilla' 'Seaming Ribbon' around the base!

Finally i stamped the sentiment from the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' using 'Melon Mambo' ink, punching it out with the 'Word Window Punch' and then gluing it onto the card with some 'Dimensionals' to create a 3D effect!!

I just love this card and will most definately be keeping my eye out for some different shaped cardbases to use as templates to make other fun designs!!

Don't forget if you like the look of any of the products that i have used in this creation (or any others on my blog) email over your order today: amyjtidd@gmail.com and if you make an order of £45 or more you'll recieve an extra stampset or paper pack for FREE! See the Sale-a-bration leaflet on the righthand side of my blog for more details!!

Perfect Postage PillowBox!

Hey all - it's the weekend!! woo hoo!! I'm so exhausted and can't wait for a lovely relaxing weekend
I really haven't had much time for crafting recently so hopefully i will be able to fit in a lot this weekend!

Today (due to my lack of crafting) i have another fabby project to share with you that has been made by my Stampin' Up! partner in crime Jade. It is a 'Pillow Box' that has been created using my 'Big Shot' and the lovely new stampset: 'Perfect Postage':

This 'Pillow Box' has been created from some 'Whisper White' card and Jade wrapped some 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Seaming Ribbon' around it. She stamped the candle cake stamp from the 'Perfect Postage' stampset, inked using 'Stampin' Write Markers', punched out using the 'Postage Stamp Punch' and then layered on some 'Pear Pizzazz' card punched out with the 'Curly Label' punch and then attached over the ribbon using some 'Dimensionals' to create a 3D effect.

Such a quick but effective project - i just love the 'Pillow Box' die - it just makes the creation of 'Pillow Boxes' such a quick and simple task - perfect if you're looking to create wedding favours!

Thanks again to Jade for saving my bacon again today and providing me with a project to feature on the blog - i promise i will get my bum in gear and create some original CraftyThINKer designs very, very soon!!

Have a great weekend!!

Christmas Cards From My Crafty Friends: Part 2!

So following on from my last post i have more Christmas cards that some of my lovely crafty friends have handcrafted for me. So here you go:

Card from Jade:

Jade is another fellow Stampin' Up! demo and over the last couple of months has become a really good friend of mine! She always has fantastic ideas and this card really demonstrates that! She started off with a 'Whisper White' base and layered a piece of 'Elegant Eggplant' card on it, with the beautiful family image (from the 'Welcome Christmas' stampset) 'Clear Embossed' on the corner. Next she ripped a piece of 'Marina Mist' card (which she has embossed using the 'Big Shot' and a non-Stampin' Up! embossing folder'. She wrapped some 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Seaming Ribbon' around it and glued it down. The 'Merry Christmas' sentiment was stamped in 'Elegant Eggplant' ink onto 'Whisper White' card, she punched it out using the '1-3/8" Circle Punch' and then layered onto a 'Pear Pizzazz' 'Scallop Circle'.

I just love this card and the colour combo that Jade has used!! Jade is in Sri Lanka this Christmas. I'm following her travels on her travel blog! She has a fab crafty blog too and she has scheduled posts whilst she was away - so why not check it out: http://www.jadedcrafter.blogspot.com/ I'm wishing Jade a very safe trip and can't wait until she gets back and we can have some crafty sessions in 2012!!

Next up i have a couple of other cards made by friends of mine (non - Stampin' Up! Shock horror!!!) So here you go...

Card from Zoe:

Zoe is a fellow member of the Crafty Boots Challenge DT! and it was lovely of her to post be this beautiful card. Zoe has a fab blog so why not check it out: http://craftygasheadzo.blogspot.com/

Finally i have a card made by a wonderfully craft work colleague of mine, Helen:

I'm in complete awe of Helens talent! She is always talking about new crafty techniques she has tried and tested and apparently she has the most amazing craft stash. We still haven't managed to catch up and craft and we definately have to fix a date in the calender for early 2012!! I have so much to learn! Again, i think you'll agree this is such a beautiful card - i just love the big red lush ribbon bow!!!

Lucy's Birthday!

It was my friend Lucy's birthday on Wednesday and we are out today to celebrate! We're off to Thorpe Parks Fright Night, which should be fun! I just hope the rain holds off!! So today i have the card i made for her to share with you. It uses the beautiful 'Vintage Vogue' stampset:

I started off with a piece of 'Whisper White' card and randomly stamped the leaves (in 'Old Olive' ink) and the large flower (in 'Tempting Turqouise') all over it. Next on a seperate pice of 'Whisper White' i stamped some small flowers using 'Island Indigo' ink, carefully cut them out and then placed them over the large flowers using some 'Dimensionals' to raise them and finally placed a blingy 'Basic Rhinestone' in the centre of each. I ran a teeny riny scrap of 'Rose Red' card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Beautiful Wings Embosslit die' to create the cute little butterfly and placed two teeny tiny 'Basic Pearls' to create its body!

I placed this decorated piece of 'Whisper White' onto a piece of 'Pool Party' card that has been edged with the 'Eyelet Border Punch'. I finally wrapped a piece of 'Rose Red' 'Seaming Ribbon' around it and tied it in a bow. I placed all of this onto an 'Old Olive' cardbase, which has the 'Birthday Wishes' sentiment (from a retired stampset) stamped in the corner, using 'Old Olive ink.

I hope she likes this card! Tomorrow i have a cute little 'Pillow Box' that i made to pop her present in! Why not visit back tomorrow and take a peek!!!

This stampset is fab and i have already made lots of cards using it - i can't wait to share them all with you! Here is what the stampset looks like:

A 'Soft Suede' cardbase, with a piece of 'Very Vanilla' layered on it. This 'Very Vanilla' card was ran through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder'. On that i layered some 'Baja Breeze' with i have ran through the 'Big Shot' using the wonderful 'Perfect Pennant Die', layered ontop of that a 'Soft Suede' 'Scallop Circle. I finally stamped the thanks sentiment in 'Soft Suede; ink onto 'Baja Breeze' cardstock, punched it out using the -1-3/8" Circle Punch', embellished it with some 'Basic Pearls' and raised in ontop of the 'Scallop Circle' using some 'Dimensionals'. I completed this card by wrapping some 'Baja Breeze' 'Seaming Ribbon'.

Happy Birthday Hannah!

Today is my friend Hannahs birthday! I have completely turned her to the darkside of crafting and i know that she will totally appriciate a handmade card! So here is the card i made her:

I've seen lots of cards of this style before but i haven't actually made one until now! The card base i used was 'Crumb Cake', it bgan life as a neat rectangle and then using my 'Paper Cutter' i trimmed it on a diagonal, and then scored it twice and then folded it one way and then the other, to create a concertina effect. I used some of the beautiful 'Springtime Vintage DSP and cut them to the right size to create the panels. Before gluing down the first panel i wrapped some of the lovely 'Rose Red' 'Seaming Ribbon' around it and then created a pretty big bow!

Here's the card in its unfolded form:

I cut a rectangle of 'Rose Red' cardstock and used my 'Eyelet Border' on one edge. I then mounted a secound rectangle of 'Very Vanilla' on top, with a 'Happy Birthday' sentiment (inked in 'Rose Red') from the 'Something to Celebrate' stampset.

Such a pretty card, this 'DSP' is so beautiful and it is such a shame that it is retiring at the end of the month. Make sure you get an order in before it's too late: amyjtidd@gmail.com

I hope Hannah likes her card and has a very happy birthday!!

A crafty make-over of my teacher planner!

Term began last week and teaching is well underway! A week and a half in, just getting use to all my new classes and slowly learning all the new names! It's all fun! I love the standing up in front of the class and teaching, but the planning can be such a drag, so i thought i'd give my planner a crafty makeover to make it slightly more bearable!! Here's the before shot:

Quite plain and dull - i think you would agree!! And here it is after its makeover:

I'm not claiming this took forever, it really didn't - quite literally 5 minutes!! I cut a beautiful piece of 'Springtime Vintage DSP' to A4 size. I love this paper - with it's big bold design, it is perfect for covering notebooks!! I glued this paper onto the blue planner cover. I then cut little snippets of 'Pear Pizzazz', 'Rose Red' and 'Baja Breeze' 'Seaming Ribbon' and tied them around the spirals of my planner! Isn't it lovely! I've already had lots of compliments from other teaching staff at my work ... and it does make planning just that little bit more bearable!!

Now don't forget, all the 'DSP' out of the current catalogue (including 'Springtime Vintage DSP') is retiring at the end of this month - so  you really don't have a lot of time to stock up on your favourite DSP's before they're gone for good. Email me to make your order: amyjtidd@gmail.com

I've entered this project into a fewchallenges:
Aly's Sunday Challenge - Add a bow
Lollipop Crafts Challenge - Anything but a card
Quirky Crafts Challenge - Anything but a card

Happy Birthday Jean! (A 'Springtime Vintage' Card)

Hi guys! Hope you're having a brilliant weekend! I've just got back from a lovely lunch at a local hotel - where we had a massive carvery!! I'm completely stuffed now and can barely move! We went out to celebrate my Nan-in-law's birthday! Before i head off for a lazy afternoon nap i thought i'd post the birthday card that i made for Jean, which i CASEd from the Hautocraft blog, using the beautiful (but sadly retiring) 'Springtime Vintage DSP':

The cardbase is 'Crumb Cake' 5"x5". The 'Rose Red' card used in this card is 4.5"x4.5". I have chopped up lots of 1 inch squares of 'Springtime Vintage DSP' and then arranged them into a 4"x4" square arrangement. I stamped the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is from the 'Something to Celebrate' hostess stampset. It was stamped in 'Rose Red' ink onto a rectangle of 'Crumb Cake' card and then 'Sponge Daubed' the 'Rose Red' ink around the edges. This is such a lovely card and could obviously be made from any of the beautiful 'DSP' collections Stampin' Up! have to offer! Finally i tied some of the beautiful 'Rose Red' 'Seaming Ribbon' into a bow!

Don't miss out on the lovely 'Springtime Vintage DSP' - IT WILL NOT BE CONTINUING INTO THE NEW CATALOGUE. So if you want to get your crafty paws on some you will have to order it by the end of September. Here is a close up of what these stunningly vintage 12x12 papers look like:
