Happy New Year!

Hi everyone! I hope you celebrated the end of 2011 well! Can you believe it is 2012! Wishing you all a very happy new year! I have a feeling that this year is going to be a good one!!

Today i have a lovely birthday card to share with you, where i have used up some of the remains of 'Holly Berry Bouquet DSP' i still have lying around - it's such a versatile 'DSP' and not just for Christmas!!

This card is a 'Very Vanilla' card base. I have layered some 'Holly Berry Bouquet DSP' over half of the card base. I punched a strip of 'Cherry cobbler' card using the 'Eyelet Border Punch'. On a seperate piece of 'very Vanilla Card' i stamped two butterflies using the 'All in A Flutter' 'A la Carte' stamp, using 'Cherry Cobbler' ink. I stamped the birthday sentiment (from a retired stampset' in the corner).  layered this onto some 'Cherry Cobbler' card and then glued this onto the cardbase.

Why not dig out your Christmas stash and see if there are any alternative ways of using your Christmas crafty goodies!!

Don't forget if you was lucky enough to get some crimbo money from friends and family why not save it to spend on the upcoming sale-a-bration promotion - details to follow on this blog very, very soon!!

'All in a Flutter' notepad!

A quick post to share with you today! A lovely little transformation of a 19p Wilkinson notepad using the lovely 'All in a Flutter' stampset:

I simply cut a piece of 'Crumb Cake' card to cover up the front of the notepad and randomly stamped the 'All in a Flutter' image over it using 'Early Espresso' ink. I stamped about butterfly on a seperate piece of 'Crumb Cake' and used a selection of 'Stampin' Write Markers' to colour it in. I then mounted it on a piece of 'Pumpkin Pie' and 'Early Espresso' card. I finally cut a strip of Early Espresso, trimmed it using the 'Eyelet Border Punch' and then folded it over the top of the notepad. Finally i cut a very thin strip of 'Pumpkin Pie' card and hand-drew some faux stitching on it using a 'Pumpkin Pie' 'Stampin' Write Marker'.

A very cheap project that would be a perfect stocking filler or christmas gift for a work colleague! Hope you like the idea!!!

Tagtastic Just For You Card!

Today i have a card to share with you that i made for my Father-in-laws partner Elle. It was her birthday recently and i wanted to make a special card for her.

I began with a 'Pretty in Pink' cardbase and then stamped all over it using the circular stamp from the 'Artistic Etchings' stampset (using 'Melon Mambo' ink). The 'just for you' sentiment is from the brilliant 'Tagtastic' stampset - which is one of the new hostess stampsets from the new catalogue! I stamped this (using 'Melon Mambo') onto 'Whisper White' cardstock and then punched it out using the 'Decorative Label Punch'. I then punched out another 'Decorative Label, snipped it in half and layered the 'Whisper White' label ontop of it.

The large 'Whisper White' shape was created using my 'Big Shot' and the 'Top Note Die', by rotating the card around the die several times you can create different shapes! Next i ran some 'Melon Mambo' card through the 'Bigshot' using the 'Perfect Pennant Die'. Finally i stamped the 'All in a Flutter' butterfly onto some 'Whisper White' card using 'Melon Mambo' ink, i snipped this out, placed some 'Basic Pearls' down the centre and then used Stampin' Up! dimensionals to raise it!

I hope Elle liked this card and the gift we brought for her! I really enjoyed making it and playing with lots of the new Stampin' Up! goodies!

Hannahs Birthday Gift!

Yesterday was my friend Hannahs birthday. I posted the card i made for her in yesterdays post and today i want to show you how i wrapped her (crafty) birthday present!!

Stampin' Up! deliver all their crafty goodies in massive cardboard boxes with huge amounts of brown paper! Well it seems such a waste to just pop it into the recycling bin, so i have folded it all up and kept it safe to use it as wrapping paper! (This was originally Hannahs idea, so it seemed fitting that i would use this paper to wrap up her pressie!)

I started off with the brown paper and randomly stamped the 'All in a Flutter' butterfly stamp all over the brown paper using 'Melon Mambo' and 'Rich Razzleberry' ink. The gift tag is made from 'Crumb Cake' cardstock, i have stamped the 'All in a Flutter' butterfly on the front (again using 'Rich Razzleberry' ink) and i then placed some 'Basic Pearls' to create a 3D butterfly body! The 'Happy birthday wishes' sentiment is from the (sadly retiring) 'Fun and Fast Notes' stampset (inked in 'Melon Mambo').

I punched a hole in the corner of the gift tag using my trusty 'Crop-a-dile' and then threaded the 'Melon Mambo' 'Grosgrain Ribbon' through the hole and wrapped up the present!! Hannah seamed very happy with her crafty gift, she is off out for a yummy meal tonight, so i hope she has a great night tonight and a fab weekend of celebrations!!

Belated Anniversary Wishes: Poppet and Dan!

One for my bestest friends Laura (Poppet) and her hubby Dan got married on the 19th June 2010, so yesterday was their first wedding anniversary! Because of the Father's Day clash i have had to post their card today. Here's the card that i made for them:

The cardbase is 'Pink Pirouette', which was folded like a usual card and then i folded the front over a second time to create a slightly quirky card style. I ran the front panel of the card through the 'Big Shot' using the 'Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder' to add a bit of texture to this card. I next ran a piece of 'Whisper White' card through the 'Big Shot' with the 'Top Note Die'. Using the beautiful 'Bella Toile' background stamp i stamped the whole of the 'Top Note' with 'Crumb Cake' ink. Using 'Pretty in Pink' ink i stamped two butterflies (created by the A La Carte stamp 'All in a Flutter') The 'Happy Anniverary' sentiment is from the 'Something to Celebrate' stampset and has been inked with 'Early Espresso'.

I have placed a second 'Whisper White' 'Top Note' inside the card to create an insert.

I hope Laura and Dan had a wonderful first anniversary and celebrated in style! I can't believe how grown up we all are now... less than one month until mine and my hubby's first anniversary - unbelievable!

Butterfly Spinner!!

Hi all, It appears that there has been a bit of a theme to my crafting recently!! I seem to be posting a lot of butterfly cards!! Today i want to share with you a card that i made quite a while ago now - but it is just too beautiful not to share!! This card was made under the wonderful supervision of my upline Cate, who taught me the spinner card technique!

The card features a lot of embossing - the background is clear embossed using the 'Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel', the words and the 'All in a flutter' butterfly are in gold embossing powder. The 'thanks' greeting is from the retired SAB set 'So Happy For You', but you could use any sentiment stampset! The cardstock used is 'Chocolate Chip' and 'Rich Razzleberry', which works as a lovely colour combo with the gold embossing! The butterfly is attached to the card with a 'dimenstional' that is attached to a 1p coin so that the butterfly spins along the 'Word Window Punch' layered on the 'Modern Label Punch'.

Happy Anniversary Andy and Suz!

Hi all, just a quick post tonight. I've just got back from the Cranleigh Girl Guides meeting, where i demonstrated and helped them all to make Mothers Day Cards!! It was really fun, but very exhausting! I will post some photo's tomorrow!

Today i want to share a card i made for our good friends Andy and Suzanne who celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday!! Hope you had a great day!!

This card is uses 'soft suede' card and ink, and the wonderful 'All a Flutter' stampset. The background stamp is the 'En Francais' stamp. I have used a 'sponge dauber' to give this card a more antique effect and finished the card off with 'linen thread' I hope you like!! xx
